Our event space requires a 2-week lead time for inquiries. 4-weeks is preferred. 8-hour minimum for reservations required. Maximum seat capacity is 350.

Description:
Located on the first floor of 1800 Owens, just off the South Lobby, Black Box is an event space designed for larger unique and creative events. The space features two story-height ceilings, Large AV screen, and its own entrance, making it the ideal space for team offsites, external facing events, and large social gatherings. If you have a larger team, this is the space for you!

AV Support Includes: 
 - Dedicated AV Technician
 - Local audio only - music, microphones
 - Local presentation - Self serve audio, display(s) 
 - Zoom video conferencing (two-way communication, built-in recording, remote presenter(s), 100 or fewer virtual people)

General Rules:
No external facing events can have door charges for admission. If you are using an external partner to host this event, please communicate this to them directly.
All external vendors will require a COI if performing any service onsite or utilizing the loading dock or freight elevator.
(6) Gender Neutral Restrooms are located in the common area lobby adjacent to the Black Box event space.
Default furniture configuration is theater style seating as pictured.


Catering Guidelines:
Black Box does not have a catering kitchen or prep space, so make sure your external caterer is prepared to cook and prep offsite.
 - Caterers are required to submit a Certificate of Insurance in order to work or serve food on site. If your caterer does not have a COI they will not be permitted to work onsite. This includes any usage of the loading dock.
  - If they are just delivering food, a COI is not required.
 - The host must accompany the caterer at all times throughout the load-in and load-out processes and the entirety of the event.
 - Open flames, heating, electrical cooking and cooking are not allowed on-site.  
 - Caterers or event hosts are responsible for providing all of their own equipment, service-ware, cooking & kitchen supplies, utensils, paper-ware, and napkins. 
 - Caterers or event hosts are responsible for providing clear and concise signage for allergens and dietary restrictions for their food items.
 - The caterer is responsible for leaving the space as it was presented. After the caterer loads out, the event location should be clean and tidy.

After Hours Pricing:
Space is available after business hours for an additional rate of $350/hour.

Security Information:
Security is a very important part of your Black Box event success. We have built these guidelines in place to protect you and your attendees. Your assigned events coordinator will help secure the necessary security team members for your event 
 - The event host is required to staff the front desk with an employee(s) for all external-facing events. Front desk coordinators and physical security team member will not be available to assist with check-in.
 - We require 1 security guard per 100 attendees.
 - For an event serving alcohol with 100+ employees present, additional security may be required.
 - In case of a medical emergency, you can contact our physical security team by the following means:

 - Please remember, you are responsible for all of your guests visiting Dropbox.

Covid-19 Guidelines:
COVID TESTING for External Business Guests (Applies to all of your event attendees): Please note that all guests will always have the option to procure and take their own at-home rapid test. Event host or delegate is required to be onsite.
 - The guests will need to take the antigen test outside of the venue. Tests cannot be disposed of onsite.
